Data Governance Architect

Overview

A senior-level Data Governance Architect responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the enterprise data governance framework. This role ensures data accuracy, security, compliance, and effective utilization across the organization. The position involves collaborating with business, data, and technology teams to establish governance standards, policies, and architectures that support data-driven decision-making and adherence to regulatory requirements.

• Design and maintain the enterprise data governance architecture, including policies, standards, processes, and operating models.
• Develop and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks covering data quality, metadata management, master data, reference data, and data lifecycle processes.
• Align data governance initiatives with business strategies, enterprise architecture, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures across various data domains and systems.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and industry-specific regulations.
• Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Information Security teams to manage data-related risks effectively.
• Define data quality rules, metrics, and monitoring processes; establish data stewardship roles, responsibilities, and workflows.
• Oversee metadata management, data cataloging, and business glossary implementation to support data discovery and impact analysis.
• Evaluate, select, and deploy data governance tools and platforms; promote automation and scalable governance solutions within data pipelines.
• Facilitate communication, training, and change management initiatives to drive adoption and compliance with data governance practices among stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in data management, data architecture, or data governance disciplines.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise data governance programs.
• Hands-on experience with data governance, data quality, and metadata management tools.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK.
• Knowledge of data architectures, data modeling, and analytics ecosystems.
• Experience with master data management (MDM), data quality, and metadata platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and modern data architectures.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Publishing Pay Range: $80.00 – $81.00 Hourly

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
