Sr. Program Manager Brooksource Fortune 500 Oil & Gas Client Houston, TX Position Overview
We are seeking a driven and organized Sr. Program Manager to lead and coordinate multiple established software development teams while supporting strategic technology initiatives, including GenAI-related projects. This role requires strong cross‑functional leadership and the ability to drive execution across teams that may not report directly to you.
The Program Manager will play a key role in ensuring alignment, delivery, and operational excellence across a portfolio of IT and software development projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage 3–4 established software development teams (approximately 10 team members each).
- Drive planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent IT and software projects.
- Coordinate across cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure milestones are met.
- Proactively follow up with internal and external teams to remove blockers and maintain momentum.
- Track project timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies.
- Facilitate status reporting and executive updates.
- Support new project initiatives as needed, including potential GenAI‑focused efforts.
- Ensure alignment with program‑level strategy and objectives.
- Promote best practices in project governance, documentation, and communication.
- 5+ years of program management experience required.
- Certified Project Manager (PMP or equivalent) preferred but not required.
- Experience managing IT and software development projects required.
- Experience in oil & gas drilling or energy industry environments strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Experience coordinating multiple teams simultaneously.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results in environments where teams may not report directly to you.
- Highly organized and execution‑focused.
- Comfortable “chasing down” tasks and holding teams accountable.
- Strong communicator who can influence without authority.
- Thrives in complex, fast‑moving environments.
- Able to balance structure with flexibility when supporting both established and new initiatives.
