Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist to drive enterprise‑level analytics initiatives, lead cross‑functional projects, and deliver executive‑ready insights that influence strategic decision‑making. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and hands‑on experience working with complex healthcare datasets, including EPIC.

The ideal candidate is a senior‑level data scientist who can build advanced machine learning models, mentor junior team members, and translate sophisticated analytics into clear, actionable recommendations for A‑C level executives.

Requirements:

• Develop datasets from large, complex, and incomplete data sources.
• Translate complex analytical findings into clear, executive‑ready insights.
• Evaluate new tools, technologies, and vendors to support analytics strategy.
• Troubleshoot data quality issues and improve data pipelines and processes.
• Present recommendations to senior leadership, including A‑C level executives.
• Lead high‑priority analytics and data science initiatives with enterprise‑wide impact.
• Build, validate, deploy, and maintain advanced machine learning and statistical models.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities.
• Mentor and coach junior data scientists; provide technical guidance and best practices.
• Partner with business, clinical, operational, and IT teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.

Qualifications/Must-Haves:

• Advanced SQL skills (3–4/5+)
• 7+ years of professional data science experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R (3–4/5 proficiency)
• Experience building datasets from large, complex, or incomplete sources.
• AWS Certification (required):
  Must hold an active AWS certification.
• Strong statistical foundation, including hypothesis testing, A/B testing, statistical modeling and distributions.
• Bachelor's Degree in science, engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related STEM field required.
• Hands‑on experience building custom ML models (not just exploratory analytics)
• Experience working with healthcare data, EHR data, or clinical/operational datasets.
• EPIC hands‑on experience (required):
  Clarity, Reporting, Data Models, or Cogito.

Leadership & Communication

• Experience leading analytics or data science projects.
• Experience presenting insights to A‑C level executives.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Preferred

Skills:

• Master's degree in Data Science or related field.
• Experience with visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
• Experience with GenAI/LLM projects (RAG, embeddings, fine‑tuning, etc.)
• Experience improving data pipelines, ETL processes, or data architecture.
• Experience with healthcare analytics, medical informatics, or revenue cycle data.
