As a Senior Dev Ops Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert within the Dev Ops team, contributing to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of scalable and secure delivery pipelines. You will work across US and India-based teams to standardize Dev Ops practices, improve automation, and enhance deployment reliability.
You will collaborate closely with product engineering and the SRE organization to ensure Dev Ops systems support observability, rollback capability, and operational readiness while maintaining a primary focus on Dev Ops execution and platform engineering excellence.
Reporting Line
This role reports to the Director of Site Reliability Engineering, NOV Digital, and works in close partnership with the Dev Ops and SRE teams to support reliable, scalable delivery pipelines.
Your Impact
Technical Leadership
Serve as a senior technical contributor within the Dev Ops team, guiding best practices in automation, CI/CD design, and infrastructure-as-code. Influence architecture decisions that impact deployment speed and reliability.
Design and enhance CI/CD pipelines to ensure scalability, security, observability, and repeatability across environments. Identify opportunities to reduce manual intervention and eliminate delivery bottlenecks.
Partner with engineering teams to translate application requirements into automated, production-ready delivery workflows. Work with SRE to ensure deployments support monitoring, rollback strategies, and operational instrumentation.
Operational Readiness
Improve deployment stability by enhancing validation gates, testing automation, release processes, and configuration management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for multiple applications
- Standardize pipeline templates and reusable automation components
- Improve deployment frequency and reduce failure rates through automation enhancements
- Automate environment provisioning and configuration management
- Reduce manual operational tasks through scripting and tooling improvements
Security & Dev Sec Ops
- Integrate security scanning, vulnerability checks, and policy enforcement into pipelines
- Ensure compliance controls are automated and consistently applied
- Support secure secret management and credential handling practices
Dev Ops–SRE Partnership
- Collaborate with SRE to ensure deployments align with reliability and observability standards
- Support incident response by improving deployment traceability and rollback mechanisms
- Align Dev Ops automation with operational requirements defined by SRE
Technical Expertise & Qualifications
Demonstrated hands‑on expertise across modern Dev Ops ecosystems, including:
- CI/CD & Automation:
Designing and operating scalable pipelines using Git Hub Actions, Azure Pipelines, Git Lab CI, or similar platforms - Containers & Orchestration:
Building and deploying containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (or equivalent orchestration platforms) - Cloud Platforms:
Operating production workloads in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments - Observability & Monitoring:
Integrating metrics, logging, and alerting solutions such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms into deployment workflows - Source Control & Branching Strategies:
Strong Git proficiency and experience with trunk‑based development, Gitflow, or comparable branching models - Infrastructure & Virtualization:
Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code and virtualized or container‑based environments - 8 years of experience in Dev Ops or Platform Engineering roles with hands‑on ownership of production delivery pipelines and cloud infrastructure
