Desktop Support I - Job Overview

Schedule: 8AM-5PM | This Position Starts in January 2026

Key Responsibilities
  • Document all IT support service requests in the ticketing system.
  • Respond to internal IT and customer requests, escalating when necessary.
  • Monitor pending support requests and obtain follow-up information.
  • Assist and instruct staff in using Microsoft Office products as an MS Office specialist.
  • Produce ad hoc reports as needed to support business operations.
  • Facilitate copier, printer, and fax requests within budgetary constraints.
  • Identify and automate manual processes in the desktop environment.
  • Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions for troubleshooting.
  • Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional.
  • Create and move Active Directory objects and user accounts.
  • Perform disk imaging using Windows Deployment Services (WDS).
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Help create procedure processes, technical documentation, and manuals.
  • Collaborate on solutions with team members and customers across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the IT team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required;
    Associate's degree preferred.
  • One year of related experience in IT support; two years preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ certification is highly desired.
  • Customer service experience, showcasing your ability to manage multiple deadlines and decisions.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record, as travel to various locations is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows PC hardware and operating systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience using an electronic ticketing system for tracking support requests.
  • Familiarity with remote administration tools and scripting languages.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
  • Strong documentation skills, with the ability to write for publication in a prescribed style and format.
  • Effective presentation skills for management, public groups, and team members.
  • Experience with computer hardware and software applications is highly preferred.
