The Senior SAP Functional Analyst reports to the SAP Manager for the SAP – Hire to Retire department within Lyondell Basell’s SAP Center of Excellence (CoE). This mid‑career role is responsible for technology innovation, implementing best‑in‑class business solutions and ensuring stable operation in the Human Capital Management (HCM) domain.
- Lead SAP ERP HR and Payroll implementation, upgrade, and process improvement.
- Configure and customize SAP HR modules (e.g., Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, Payroll) for the North America region; optional for other regions.
- Ensure accurate payroll processing, BSI Tax Factory, tax compliance, posting, and reporting.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to align SAP HR solutions with business needs.
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and provide solutions.
- Integrate Success Factors modules such as Employee Central Payroll, Compensation, and other relevant components.
- Design, build, test, and deploy end‑to‑end solutions that meet business requirements, industry, and LYB standards.
- Accountable for the quality of external solutions delivered by application maintenance partners and system integrators.
- Ensure adherence to LYB standards and industry best practices.
- Oversee incident resolution with our service provider, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective communication with business stakeholders.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Maintain solution documentation and improve where required; create Knowledge Base Articles (KBA).
- Build solution roadmap by aligning SAP technology with business goals.
- Continue to grow knowledge of regulatory requirements and SAP innovations.
- Train and coach others.
- Be ready to travel approximately 20% domestically and internationally, if required.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management, engineering, or other related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of SAP experience with 3–4 full‑cycle Success Factors implementations, upgrades, and operations.
- Direct experience in SAP HCM lifecycle activities: solution architecting, designing, configuring, supporting, quality assurance, building custom HCM apps on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP);
Payroll for North America. - Minimum 5 years of experience managing operations of a portfolio of SAP solutions and interfacing applications, in partnership with an external party.
- Certified in the SAP HCM suite.
- Experience working in a matrix organization and leading a team.
- Experience managing SAP projects is preferable.
- Knowledge of SAP architecture, market trends, operations and business drivers.
- Ability to propose and present a convincing business case and product roadmap to senior leadership.
