A key Optimus client is currently seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to join their team located in Houston. This role is onsite, in the office five days a week. Per the client’s specifications, candidates must be US citizens, green‑card holders, or otherwise authorized to work in the US. H‑1B visa sponsorship or transfer is not available at this time. Local Houston candidates only.

• First point of contact to users in Houston to support, troubleshoot, and resolve all IT Service Desk related issues. Secondary support across other locations.
• Support for network, telephony, computers, printers, conference room audio/video, and approved software.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues on servers, workstations, laptops, and personal technology devices.
• Maintain inventory for all Houston‑based IT infrastructure, equipment, and devices.
• Act as system administrator for various business‑critical applications, supporting onboarding/off‑boarding, L1 support and triage, and customer support for stakeholders. This includes management of ISO certificate/permission processes for the various ISO markets the client participates in.
• Establish best‑in‑class customer service with a strong focus on operational excellence, ensuring support services are delivered and appropriate service levels achieved.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in desktop support role for an Energy/Oil & Gas company.
• At least 2–3 years supporting an oil/gas/power trading environment in a desktop support or application support role.
• Preferred experience managing a Microsoft technology stack in a system‑administration capacity (SQL, Exchange, AD, Entra, Azure, Defender, SSO).
• Knowledge with business applications such as ETRM or Bid to Bill preferred.
• Energy/power industry experience or background preferred.
• Ability to interact with stakeholders such as commercial operations, risk, settlements/accounting, and even C‑suite level personnel.
• Experience managing third‑party vendors.
