IT Consultant, Systems Analyst
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
- Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents and provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools that can be integrated into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins.
- Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs. - Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
- Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs to resolution.
- Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
- Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities, open defect counts, failure rates, etc.
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies. - Responsible for project delivery and leading execution
- Hands-on step towards a manager’s role
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.
- Job requires the ability to use vision, adjust focus and work on a standard computer screen.
- Use of audio-visual equipment is required.
Education & Experience
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
- 5+ years software development experience.
- BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Other
Skills and Abilities
- Proven work experience in software quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
- Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing techniques.
- Knowledge of SQL and scripting for MSSQL and Oracle.
- Test Automation experience across varied Web, API and Desktop environments.
- Strong experience working in an Agile/Scrum delivery model.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
- Professional certification may be required in some cases
