Role SummaryUnder the supervision of the development manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for completing tasks within the framework of ongoing development and operation of a wireless in-flight service and entertainment solution. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the candidate will work on a multitude of projects in a Linux environment. The role involves developing different web modules and components, primarily using Angular 2+ for both delivery and generic product.
The candidate will also analyze new features or updates across varied technology stacks.
Location: Anywhere in Canada or the United States
Remote Options: Option to be remote or hybrid
- Develop/Update web portals using Angular 2+, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SASS/LESS
- Ensure mock‑up compatibility across different browsers
- Set up development and production environments using standard Linux tools and software
- Analyze project specifications and provide relevant suggestions
- Participate in architectural design and analysis with architects and other team leads
- Maintain existing modules/components and applications when required
- Solve problems due to technical limitations on certain platforms
- Determine tasks to be carried out using Jira
- Estimate development time
- Conduct preliminary and unit tests
- Apply adjustments following QA recommendations
- Validate and test software on a variety of portable electronic devices
- Create/update documentation throughout development
- Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the project
- Stay abreast of new web integration technologies
- College or university diploma related to computer science
- Minimum 5 years of experience in web development (OOP)
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Python (ideally Pyramid)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in web (HTML, CSS/SASS/LESS, JavaScript, Angular
8) - Considerable experience working with Linux and LAMP architecture
- Experience with RESTful/JSON API development
- Experience in Linux development (Perl, Bash)
- Experience with Dev Ops (AWS, Docker, Jenkins)
- Experience in server configuration is an asset:
Web, DNS, DHCP, Memcached - Experience with other JavaScript frameworks is an asset:
Meteor, React - Experience with Python frameworks is an asset:
