SAP Basis Consultant

We are hiring an SAP Basis lead & coordinator primarily responsible for system security, vulnerability management, and patching across our SAP landscape and related technologies. The ideal candidate will work closely with various cross‑functional teams, including Compute (OS/infrastructure), SAP BASIS, SAP Security, and Application teams, to ensure system security, stability, and compliance with organizational policies.

• Work with the Compute/Infrastructure teams to address and remediate server vulnerabilities (Operating System patches) impacting the SAP environment.
• Coordinate with Basis, SAP Security, and Application teams to implement SAP security patches, OS configurations, and feature‑level adjustments as directed by Threat and Vulnerability Management (TVM) guidelines.
• Perform detailed risk‑impact analysis on SAP Security Notes and Support Packages to evaluate the technical trade‑offs between patch implementation and potential system anomalies or downtime.
• Implement patches and updates to SAP‑related applications, including but not limited to Tomcat, Java, Open Text, and other integrated third‑party systems.
• Work with Application teams, Basis, and Compute teams to proactively plan and schedule application/OS upgrades, patches, and required system outages, minimizing disruption to business operations.
• Participate in the change management process, ensuring all changes are documented, tested, and approved.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation for processes, procedures, system configurations, and security policies.
• Provide support during audits related to system compliance and security.
• Proven experience in SAP Basis administration, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of SAP landscapes (e.g., S/4
  
  HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager).
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.

• Relevant SAP certifications in Basis or Security.
• Familiarity with automation tools for vulnerability detection and remediation.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, and security patch application processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 8 to 12 years of core SAP Basis experience, with at least 3 to 5 years of management and security vulnerability / risk remediation.
