This role offers the opportunity to contribute to dynamic Trading and Supply operations within the energy and commodities sector. Purpose and AccountabilityThe Software Engineer will collaborate closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver fit-for-purpose technology solutions.
Responsibilities include:
- Partnering with subject matter experts to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Analyzing issues, impacts, and dependencies to recommend and implement end‑to‑end solutions.
- Delivering defect fixes, enhancements, and special projects across the software.
- Supporting SaaS and turnkey solutions, including configuration and installation of third‑party packages.
- Coordinating with external suppliers to implement change requests and support testing, deployment, and business acceptance.
- Following Dev Ops methodologies for task management, requirements gathering, prototyping, design, development, testing, and release management.
- Adhering to enterprise standards, processes, and communication practices, including participation in scrum calls, knowledge‑sharing sessions, and process improvement initiatives.
- Pilot and prototype new solutions and technologies, including procurement, setup, development, demonstration, and deployment.
- Support projects and teams through all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirements, analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and production support.
- Design scalable and sustainable solutions for global business needs.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with business stakeholders and users.
- Contribute to local and global IT community activities.
- Experience:
5–7 years of corporate IT experience, with a focus on Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM/CTRM). - Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field. - Domain Expertise:
Energy/Commodity Trading and Risk Management, with specific experience in Trade Capture, Risk Management, Scheduling & Operations, or Settlements & Accounting.
- Functional and technical expertise with Open Link Endur (v11+).
- Endur development using JVS and Open Components.
- Proficiency in Java and .NET development.
- Strong experience with Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, and Informatica.
- In-depth knowledge of Endur’s database schema and SQL performance tuning.
- Ability to address memory management issues in JVS and Open Components scripting.
- Experience with Connex, Grid Enabled Scripts, Operation Services, and Endur’s Trade Process Management (TPM).
- Understanding of mature software design/architectures, software quality management, and coding standards.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Dev Ops tools (VSTS, GIT).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and demand requests effectively.
