Role OverviewThe Senior Network Engineer oversees all aspects of IT network infrastructure, including design, architecture, operations, and maintenance. This role ensures optimal network performance to support business operations and requires a collaborative, solution-oriented approach. The Senior Network Engineer will act as a liaison between internal teams, clients, vendors, and consultants, managing critical projects and meeting time-sensitive objectives.
Reporting to the Network Manager, the ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, critical thinking, and sound judgment. A self-starter mindset, commitment to continuous learning, and adaptability to emerging technologies are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively when documenting issues and implementing solutions, including partnering with end users.
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure in compliance with IT policies and standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess risks and perform regular system evaluations.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for network-related issues and initiatives.
- Monitor and triage alerts to maintain reliable and stable network communications.
- Stay current with evolving network technologies and systems.
- Execute ad hoc requests and special projects as assigned.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with security standards.
- Perform routine preventive measures and monitor network security.
- Complete onsite Network Lab exercises successfully.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and business systems.
- Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco, Palo Alto, and Meraki equipment.
- Experience with IPSec VPN tunnels and routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF).
- Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies and complex interdependent systems.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, including collaboration with senior management.
- Manage IT staff and ensure smooth day-to-day operations of enterprise systems and projects.
- Associate degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field; or 6+ years equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of network infrastructure experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of network infrastructure experience.
- Cisco CCNP certification or higher (expired certifications acceptable).
- 5+ years of management/leadership experience.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Power Shell, Ruby, etc.).
This is a high-visibility, time-sensitive role requiring professionalism under pressure. Work is primarily in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal safety hazards. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, occasional lifting, bending, and frequent computer use. Full-time commitment is required.
