We are seeking a hands‑on Data Engineer / Dev Ops Engineer to join a high‑performing global team responsible for supporting derivatives trading production environments. This role focuses on ensuring system stability, scalability, and compliance while driving improvements and delivering technology solutions for trading workflows.
You will work closely with traders, developers, and infrastructure teams to:
- Manage and enhance critical end‑to‑end trading workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, support, and business users.
- Support algorithmic trading technology in a compliant and flexible way.
- Deliver defect fixes, enhancements, and special projects following the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in on‑call rotation as part of a global team.
- Proactively monitor and improve system reliability and performance.
- Translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable solutions.
- Support turnkey/SaaS solutions and third‑party package installations.
- Collaborate with vendors for certifications and system upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and audit standards.
- Participate in Dev Ops practices, including automation and continuous integration.
- Understanding of global futures exchanges and full trade lifecycle.
- Minimum 8 years in Commodity Trading & Capital Markets / Investment Banking.
- Knowledge of market data providers (Bloomberg, Refinitiv) and liquidity platforms.
- Experience with real‑time market data distribution platforms and feed handlers.
- Familiarity with time‑series analytics frameworks (kdb, shakti or similar).
- Strong scripting and programming skills:
Python, Power Shell, C#, SQL. - 8+ years of FIX protocol engineering experience.
- Proven experience with exchange and vendor certification.
- Knowledge of EMS/OMS vendors (e.g., TT, NYFIX, Bloomberg, Trading Screen).
- Experience with messaging systems and debugging network protocols (TCP, multicast).
- Operational experience with RTDS components (DACS, ADH, ADS).
- Knowledge of multicast traffic management and message queuing.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with traders, developers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast‑paced trading environment.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
Location: Houston, TX
Travel: Occasional global travel; on‑call rotation required.
