We are seeking a results-oriented Business Systems Specialist with ERP experience to successfully manage, troubleshoot, support, and translate business requests into effective business processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to determine which business processes need optimization, to ensure that they meet evolving business needs. ERP systems include Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Tungsten AP Essentials (Cloud Capture), Infor OS, and Infor Sun.
To ensure success as an ERP Business Systems Specialist, the job holder should exhibit extensive knowledge of software systems and processes, and the ability to resolve integration and day-to-day issues. A successful Business Systems Specialist will be someone whose expertise translates into streamlined business processes with highly effective problem‑solving abilities.
The ability to provide exceptional communication, process improvements, high attention to detail, multi‑tasking, work in a collaborative environment, communicate effectively and handle a high volume of work during peak periods is essential to this position. The ERP Business Systems Specialist is responsible for ensuring that systems are operated in a manner to bring efficiency and provide business value.
Organizationally, the position will report directly to the Global Information Technology Director, with functional alignment and global project support to IT, but also working closely with Supply Chain and Operations. The position will be based in Vaalco Energy, Inc.’s corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas, USA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ERP System Support- Support and manage EAM functionalities, ensuring that the system is effectively utilized for budget-to-pay and maintenance processes.
- Support and manage the Infor platform (Infor OS, Infor Sun Systems), ensuring smooth integration with other systems, workflow automation, and efficient use of mobile apps.
- Provide first‑level support to end users in resolving system issues, troubleshooting errors, and ensuring smooth operation.
- Manage/coordinate second‑level support with external System Partner.
- Facilitate training sessions for end users to maximize the effective use of ERP systems.
- Develop and update user manuals, FAQs, and other documentation.
- Assist in the management and execution of change control processes for system‑related modifications. Ensure that any system changes, updates, or enhancements follow a formal approval process, including impact assessments, testing, documentation, and change management committee sign‑offs.
- Coordinate regular system testing for new modules, features, and updates. Help ensure a smooth rollout of system upgrades and patches.
- Ensure data integrity and security within ERP systems by producing regular audit reports for review and compliance verification in accordance with company policies.
- Manage user access controls and security protocols for the ERP systems, including setting up and maintaining user roles, permissions, and access levels. Ensure compliance with company security policies and protect sensitive data from unauthorized access.
- Partner with IT and external ERP vendors for escalated issues, system updates, and patches.
- Coordinate with internal departments for system improvements.
- Assist in the development and generation of system reports and dashboards, helping stakeholders access real‑time data and insights.
- Monitor and resolve integration errors.
- Lead efforts to streamline and automate data management processes, reducing manual interventions and errors.
- Work with IT and business systems teams to optimize master data management functionalities within ERP systems.
- Support the integration of master data in M&A activities or system upgrades.
