Associate – Global Transaction Analytics
Join Alvarez & Marsal as an Associate in our Global Transaction Analytics (GTA) practice. GTA partners with private equity and corporate clients across the transaction lifecycle, providing data‑driven insights to support M&A, divestment, and investment strategy.
DescriptionAs an Associate, you will work on diverse projects across industries including manufacturing, retail, software, energy, and financial services. You will add value by offering data‑enabled business, financial, and operational transparency during pre‑acquisition due diligence or post‑acquisition performance improvement projects.
Responsibilities- Assist with numerous client engagements.
- Extract insights from data sets and trends using various tools and techniques.
- Facilitate day‑to‑day client interaction and relationships.
- Work cohesively and collaboratively across stakeholders.
- Counsel and mentor junior team members and continue to develop the team’s technical acumen.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in data analytics or transaction services.
- Buy‑side/vendor due diligence experience across industries preferred.
- Understanding of the M&A/PE investment lifecycle preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Statistics, Information Systems or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data extraction, manipulation, analytics and visualization approaches.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, relational databases/SQL querying, Alteryx, Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Ability to leverage business intelligence software, including big data and machine learning concepts.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Exceptional project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work as a team member in a collaborative setting and as an individual contributor.
- Ability to thrive and be effective in fast‑paced settings.
