Human Resources Information System Specialist

Summary

The HRIS Training & Systems Specialist will focus on educating and empowering employees to effectively use the organization’s Human Resources Information Systems, with a primary emphasis on UKG. This role is responsible for developing training materials, delivering system training, configuring tools to support user needs, and serving as a key resource for HR, payroll, and leadership teams. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate technical system functions into user‑friendly training and support.

• Serve as the primary trainer and system guide for UKG and other HRIS tools.
• Develop and deliver training programs, reference materials, and user resources to ensure employees can confidently navigate HR systems.
• Configure workflows, permissions, and modules with a focus on usability and adoption.
• Maintain data accuracy through audits and user‑focused validation processes.
• Partner with HR and payroll teams to identify where system training or upskilling can improve efficiency and reduce errors.

• Train HR and business teams on how to generate and interpret HRIS reports and dashboards.
• Provide guidance on workforce data, compliance metrics, and analytical tools.
• Support employees in understanding data outputs and resolving discrepancies.

• Act as the first point of contact for HRIS questions, offering instructional support and troubleshooting assistance.
• Escalate technical issues to vendors when necessary and translate system updates into digestible training for users.
• Test system updates, patches, and new features, then create training resources to prepare employees for changes.

• Assist in implementing new HRIS features or related systems by creating rollout training and documentation.
• Participate in cross‑functional projects to ensure system changes are supported with effective user education.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, training guides, and instructional materials.

• Bachelor’s degree required; HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Demonstrated HRIS experience, with strong proficiency in UKG.
• Sightline experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and instructional skills.
• Ability to manage multiple training and system‑related projects simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and translate technical concepts into practical training.

The physical demands listed represent those required to successfully perform this job’s essential functions. While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, communicate in person and by phone, and use hands to operate standard office equipment. The employee may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The role may require lifting/moving up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 25 lbs occasionally.
