Marubeni-Itochu Steel America (MISA) is part of a global team trading in a wide range of steel products. The MISA team is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager in our Houston office. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the daily conduct of human resources activities in support of employees and assists in human resources planning activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Advises all levels of management on a variety of HR issues including employee relations, compensation, training, recruitment and policies and procedures
  • Investigates and resolves various employee relations issues such as performance, morale, development, harassment, etc.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with payroll and benefits administration to effectively oversee processes, ensure accuracy and maintain compliance
  • Lead implementation of Human Capital Management system, including support with requirements gathering, configuration, testing and deployment
  • Change management support, including communication plans, training materials and end to end support
  • Assists managers in developing department structures and makes succession planning recommendations
  • Counsels employees regarding career goals and assists in developing courses of action
  • Identifies organizational training need and recommends the appropriate courses of action
  • Conducts salary surveys and determines compensation rates for new and current employees
  • Develops, recommends and implements policies and procedures in order to maintain an efficient and effective work environment
  • Prepare, analyze, and deliver monthly HR and payroll reports
  • Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND

SKILLS:

Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration, payroll and benefits, effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.

EDUCATION AND

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years relevant experience. Professional certifications a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Required to sit for long periods of time
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Usual office working conditions
COMPENSATION AND OTHER BENEFITS:

$115,000 - $120,000 annualized base salary (determined by experience and work location)

Nonexempt roles are required to receive time-and-one-half overtime for time worked in excess of 40 hours in a calendar week. Any time worked between 35 hours and less than 40 hours in a work week will be compensated at straight time (the current hourly rate) unless otherwise required by applicable law.

All positions qualify for our Incentive Compensation Plan.
