Overview

Our client is a commercial property & casualty insurance firm looking to hire a Senior HR Business Partner. Reporting to the Head of HR, this role will lead all people efforts for more than half of the firm’s ~900 employees in middle markets/operations groups.

This an individual contributor role operating alongside several HRBP peers and a recruiting team, with other HR services/COEs at the parent company level. It’s a well-rounded and highly autonomous role in a deeply relationship-focused business, and will require the capacity to forge trust and credibility quickly. The firm is seeking an experienced, strategic business partner with a commercial approach, an inquisitive nature and comfort driving solutions in white space.

This role will be co-located with some of the leaders of the business it will support, in either Atlanta or Houston (2 days in office).

Responsibilities
  • Lead all people efforts for a portion of the firm’s ~900 employees in middle markets/operations groups, reporting to the Head of HR.
  • Partner with business leaders to formulate and execute people strategies that align with business goals; drive solutions in white space.
  • Collaborate with peers in HRBP, recruiting, and other HR COEs to deliver integrated HR services.
  • Build trust and credibility quickly through relationship-focused partnership.
  • Operate as an individual contributor within a team of HR professionals.
  • Be co-located with business leadership in Atlanta or Houston (2 days in office).
Qualifications
  • Experience as an HR business partner or equivalent in a commercial or risk-heavy industry; ability to act as a strategic partner to leaders.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Comfort working autonomously in a matrix environment and with white-space initiatives.
  • Understanding of property and casualty insurance industry is preferred.
  • Willingness to be co-located with business leadership in Atlanta or Houston (2 days in office).
