Talent Manager, Employee Relations, HR Manager
Overview
The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) shall execute on the respective human capital strategy and business needs. The HRBP is responsible for implementing and communicating HR policies, directives and processes in the organization and ensures compliance /alignment. The HRBP will provide HR operational support to managers which will ensure that HR operations deliver the talent and performance necessary for achieving business goals.
The HRBP also supports management teams and participates in selected management meetings as needed and on an ad hoc basis.
The HR culture requires a diplomatic, assertive and dynamic individual who is proactive in communications and able to develop effective relationships at all levels within the company
Responsibilities- General Tasks
- Conduct employee onboarding and coordinate in-person orientation sessions.
- Develop and administer probationary and annual employee performance reviews.
- Manage the administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
- Maintain employee files and records in both electronic and paper form.
- Conduct exit interviews and manage termination processes.
- Oversee administration of HRIS in collaboration with Executive Vice President.
- HR Compliance and Administration
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations such as FMLA, ADA, EEOC, TWC, and FFCRA.
- Maintain and update human resources documents, including organizational charts, employee handbooks, and performance evaluation forms.
- Handle claims processing and documentation for various benefits programs.
- Conduct monthly audits of invoices for benefits providers.
- Employee Relations and Retention
- Proactively build and promote strong employee trust and open communication between all levels
- Focus on driver retention and enhance job satisfaction.
- Organize team-building activities for non-driver personnel.
- Manage celebrations and announcements, including birthdays, anniversaries, and Employee of the Quarter recognitions.
- Conduct terminal visits to maintain a presence among drivers.
- Recruitment Support
- Assist with driver recruiting by working with Division Managers to identify staffing needs.
- Develop and design recruitment ads for social media in collaboration with Executive Vice President.
- Manage job board postings, related expenses, and applicant tracking systems such as Tenstreet.
- Handle driver candidate communication, including calls, follow-ups, and interview scheduling.
- Special Projects
- Lead and manage special HR projects as assigned.
- Oversee the performance improvement plans, employee coaching, quarterly review programs, training, driver surveys, suggestion box, rewards, and recognition programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- HR certification (preferred). (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
- 7-10 years of experience in a Human Resource or similar role.
- Knowledge of US labor law compliance requirements and standard HR practices.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong data analytical skills, process-oriented, and detail-oriented.
- Strong business sense and acumen.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate to advanced level).
- Experience with PAYCOMM preferred.
