Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a long-term contract opportunity where you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while collaborating closely with the management team. The position requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in payroll systems and benefit administration.

Responsibilities:

- Process payroll cycles efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

- Collaborate with the management team to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

- Utilize payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian Dayforce to manage employee compensation.

- Administer benefit programs, including 401k and RRSP contributions, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.

- Conduct audits to verify payroll data and address any inconsistencies.

- Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions for reporting and auditing purposes.

- Implement adjustments for employee benefits, deductions, and tax with holdings.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

- Provide support during payroll system upgrades or transitions.

- Assist in preparing payroll-related reports for management review. Requirements - Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, with a strong understanding of payroll systems.

- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian Dayforce, and other accounting software.

- Familiarity with benefit administration, including 401k and RRSP plans.

- Ability to perform detailed audits and resolve payroll discrepancies.

- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills to liaise with management and employees.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
