Schedule:

Hybrid, 3 days onsite & 2 days remote.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted advisor providing comprehensive HR support and guidance to the business by understanding business goals and challenges.
  • Analyze and manage HR data and metrics to identify trends and provide insights.
  • Actively lead and engage employees in evaluating the employee relations climate and implement solutions to issues that arise.
  • Lead and/or participate in the onboarding process, ensuring effective execution by managers; work closely with hiring managers to integrate and retain associates.
  • Lead and/or participate in annual programs for assigned client groups (performance appraisals, calibration, salary reviews, pay processes, goal setting, incentive processes, talent reviews, engagement surveys, and compensation plans).
  • In conjunction with the L&D COE team, develop and deliver talent development and training assessments and programs for assigned client groups.
  • Counsel employees and managers on career planning, conflict resolution and work-related challenges; conduct exit interviews and investigations as needed.
  • Partner with the Employee Relations COE on escalated case management and positive employee relations.
  • Advise managers on performance management, including corrective actions and development, and progressive discipline techniques.
  • Review documentation to ensure consistency with Airgas policies and guiding principles.
  • Involve Legal or senior HR leadership as appropriate.
  • Monitor and verify the company's employment standards and practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in the management of new hire orientation for assigned business units.
  • Follow up with managers to ensure new hire training is on track; coordinate with third-party administrator on unemployment claims; attend unemployment hearings as needed.
  • Partner with HR COEs and HR Operations to ensure accurate processing of new hires, terminations and changes in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of overall HR strategy; act as a change agent to improve workforce and HR process effectiveness.
  • Recommend and implement revisions to policies, programs and practices as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations including wage and hour laws, FMLA, OSHA, EEO and ADA.
  • Assist in HR processes including HRIS data integrity (Workday), reporting, talent management and total rewards processes; participate in HR program implementation and maintenance (diversity, budgets, tuition reimbursement, etc.).
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of related HR experience (experience in compensation reviews, employee relations, performance management and annual HR processes)
  • High level analytical skills; experience with Excel/Google Sheets including V-lookups, pivot tables and formulas
Preferred Qualifications
  • HR-related certification (PHR, SPHR) preferred
  • Experience as HR Generalist, HR Business Partner or similar
  • Experience managing multi-site personnel, in different states
  • Experience with plant and/or transportation workforce
  • Project management experience within an HR team
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Understanding of HR principles, employment laws and the ability to lead ER investigations
  • Personable, professional, responsive, credible and able to drive value
  • Understanding of HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets data management skills
  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, listening and presentation skills
