Overview

HR support in functional areas including onboarding, payroll and benefits and employment law compliance. Familiarity with payroll compliance including state and local ordinances to ensure compliance in wage and hours for all employees. This position will work closely with the appointed PEO and be heavily involved in the day-to-day needs of employee pay and benefits. Responsible for processing invoices, employee reimbursements and other payments, including generating weekly check runs, coding, and allocation of expenses to specific properties, ensuring payments are supported by appropriate documentation and authorization, vendor statement review and follow-up, and matching and data entry.

Location:

Houston, TX;
Salary: $60,000-$80,000 (typical range reported).

Responsibilities
  • Validate information on hours worked for each employee; confirm overtime, deductions, bonuses, etc. with Operations Leadership; obtain approval from upper management for payments when needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new employee orientation; handle new employee paperwork and ensure an organized onboarding experience.
  • Update/inform personnel changes to the PEO.
  • Act as on-site point of contact for employee benefit questions, issues, new hire enrollments and qualifying life events.
  • Participate in benefits annual renewal meetings, planning and open enrollment with the PEO.
  • Generate outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures on a routine schedule.
  • Respond to external vendors and internal managers regarding payment inquiries.
  • Research information to provide accurate and timely solutions to internal clients and vendors at multiple locations.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
Qualifications
  • Experience providing HR support in onboarding, payroll, benefits and employment law compliance.
  • Familiarity with payroll compliance including state and local ordinances to ensure wage and hour compliance.
  • Ability to work closely with a PEO and manage day-to-day payroll and benefits needs.
  • Experience processing invoices, reimbursements, and other payments, including weekly check runs, coding, and expense allocation.
