Overview
Thompson Houston is recruiting for Cook 3 – Lead Line to launch a new destination restaurant at Thompson Houston Hotel. This role starts immediately and will be part of a relaunch this summer of a 3‑meal dining venue with an expanded 1‑acre pool deck, luxury cabanas, private event spaces, indoor‑outdoor dining and views of downtown. Managed by Thompson Houston Hotel and Hyatt Hotels Corporation, the position is part of a full‑service hotel dining operation that also hires all front and back of house staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform basic and intermediate cooking skills, including soups, sauces, stocks, frying and broiling.
- Prepare and cook menu items for all 3 meals.
- Work multiple stations in the kitchen.
- Provide direction and guidance in the supervisor’s absence.
- Maintain high food quality and safety standards.
- 3+ years of line cooking experience in fine dining or similar setting.
- Culinary degree or related hotel experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under moderate supervision and training.
- Capacity to work multiple kitchen stations.
