The Houston Marriott Westchase is one of the largest full‑service Marriott hotels in Houston, featuring more than 604 renovated guest rooms and over 40,000 square feet of event space, including a 10,000‑square‑foot Grand Ballroom, two boardrooms and 18 additional meeting rooms. We are located off of Beltway 8 and Westheimer.
What You Will Have An Opportunity To DoAs an On‑Call Bell Attendant/Shuttle Van Driver, you will provide a memorable first impression for our guests, assist with luggage unloading, share information about hotel amenities and the local area, and drive the hotel shuttle to transport guests to and from local destinations. This role combines customer service, hospitality knowledge, and driving duties.
Responsibilities- Help guests discover their “Wanderlust” experience.
- Provide exceptional customer service by being engaging and taking sincere interest.
- Interact with all guests and welcome each guest to our hotel.
- Open the door for guests arriving by motor vehicle.
- Escort and orient guests to the front desk for check‑in.
- Escort guests and their luggage to their room while explaining amenities and fun facts.
- Work with other attendants to ensure each guest has a personalized experience.
- Assist the lobby attendant in keeping the entrance area clean and organized.
- Be the difference with all guests and employees, and do more than just the norm.
All associates are expected to perform any other duties as requested by management to support other departments and/or operational requirements.
Qualifications- At least one year in a customer‑service role with high guest interaction; hospitality experience is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems when they arise.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Pleasant and helpful personality.
- Must be able to work a full shift standing and moving between the lobby, shuttle vans, guest rooms, and other areas.
- Strong desire to make an impact on people with an outgoing and engaging personality.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced setting and make decisions based on guest needs and hotel policies with a sense of urgency when needed.
- Move heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs) and carts weighing 100–150 lbs repeatedly during the shift.
- Must be available to work various shifts, including heavy weekends and holiday shifts.
- Valid and unexpired driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience and a clean driving record.
Compensation is based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, years of experience, certifications, and location. It may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
