Overview
The Post Oak Hotel, the only Double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas, is seeking a Bar Manager to join our passionate, professional team. The role focuses on delivering exceptional, Five-Star guest experiences while elevating operational excellence and financial performance.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage daily bar operations, providing hands‑on supervision and staffing oversight during peak periods or staff shortages.
- Develop and maintain staffing schedules to support service excellence, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
- Foster a collaborative, high‑performance team culture through open communication, engagement, and leadership by example.
- Support employee development by identifying training needs, mentoring team members, and enforcing performance standards.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and liquor laws, as well as all internal food & beverage policies.
- Uphold Five‑Star service standards by proactively resolving guest concerns, anticipating needs, and creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Engage with guests and staff to gather service feedback, reinforce service expectations, and maintain a culture of personalized hospitality.
- Utilize problem‑solving and analytical skills to evaluate operational results and implement effective solutions.
- Provide interdepartmental support, including stepping in during peak times and assuming leadership of other outlets as needed.
- Manage bar inventory, ordering, requisitions, and maintain consistent bar processes.
- Deliver outstanding service that drives customer satisfaction and retention, handling and resolving guest complaints.
- Passion for hospitality, striving for excellence, collaboration, and integrity.
- Minimum of 5 years of restaurant management experience in a bar or restaurant setting; previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, and wine, and genuine passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or relevant work experience, skills, and knowledge that are deemed comparable.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.
