A dedicated pharmacist is needed for overnight shifts at a Houston hospital, specializing in inpatient care. This 14-week contract position offers a consistent 7-on/7-off schedule from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., starting on March 2. The role requires management of the medication process, ensuring proper dosing, preventing and resolving drug-related issues, and promoting pharmaceutical care for patients ranging from newborns to adults.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify appropriateness of medication doses considering diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions, aiming for zero medication incidents.
• Accurately enter medication orders into the system, maintaining error-free records.
• Confirm patients receive correct medications, maintaining a dispensing error-free environment.
• Process orders and deliver doses within established timelines, monitored through peer reviews and complaint records.
• Adhere to aseptic technique and infection control standards in sterile product preparation; enforce these practices among staff.
• Maintain certification by passing annual aseptic technique and infection control exams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably pediatric-focused.
• Active Texas pharmacist license.
