Requirements
  • Supervise and lead a team of medical assistants, providing direction, guidance, and support to ensure the delivery of high‑quality patient care.
  • Coordinate daily activities within the oncology practice, including patient appointments, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks, to optimize workflow efficiency.
  • Develop and implement training programs for medical assistants, ensuring adherence to practice protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of medical assistant staff, providing feedback, coaching, and support to promote professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to facilitate seamless patient care and communication across departments.
  • Oversee medical assistant policies and procedures to ensure quality program qualifications are being met.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and organizing medical supplies and equipment necessary for patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and privacy policies.
  • Serve as a resource for medical assistants, providing clinical guidance, troubleshooting issues, and addressing patient care concerns as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between medical assistant staff and management, communicating practice policies, procedures, and performance expectations effectively.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive work environment for medical assistant staff, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and professional excellence.
Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a medical assistant in an oncology practice or similar clinical setting.
  • Proven leadership skills with previous experience supervising or managing a team of healthcare professionals.
  • Strong understanding of oncology procedures, treatments, and patient care protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical office software.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing patient‑centered care and support.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
