Position: Rheumatology Sales Consultant I/II/Sr. - Houston, TX

Overview

Description The Rheumatology Sales Consultant is responsible for implementing the Rheumatology sales and marketing plans to assure maximum distribution and market penetration of BIPI ILD products within BIPI guidelines, policies and directives. The incumbent will conduct business with key clinics and targeted Rheumatologist Clinicians and Allied Healthcare Professionals. Responsibilities include sales activities in teaching and community hospitals, federal and military hospitals.

The Rheumatology Sales Consultant will manage a geography that may require overnight travel and occasional night and weekend meetings.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintains and utilizes product knowledge and effective selling skills to influence targeted health care professionals to support the use of BIPI promoted products. Executes brand strategies and business plans to ensure a consistent company sales and marketing message.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication/cooperation/coordination with internal BIPI employees.
  • Develops clinic and customer pre-call plans to meet health care professionals' and account needs. Builds valued discussions around HCP needs and opportunities. Fosters HCP network development and communication. Provides timely follow-up discussions with HCP. Uses BIPI sales training techniques and supports exchange of scientific knowledge to provide enhanced value and trust through facilitation of patient management and decision-making.
  • Identifies key business needs, develops plans to address territory needs, and involves Sr. Associate Director, Clinical Educator, Payer Relations Managers, and other BI internal support personnel in developing and executing strategies.
  • Analyzes territory information to optimize HCP calls; monitors and reacts to local market conditions.
  • Develops plans to maximize regional and national speaker and regional programs; adjusts implementation plans as needed. Creates opportunities aligning with territory and brand tactics.
  • Utilizes sales data and supporting analysis to plan activity, monitors literature use, and maintains account and HCP records. Completes administrative responsibilities and sales training requirements in a timely fashion.
  • Identifies and develops regional and national thought leaders, innovators, and advocates to support BIPI products; provides feedback to speakers and attendees; develops plans to grow speakers and networks among HCPs.
  • Manages programs and budgets within BI standards; determines efficient use of regional and national speakers and company resources in collaboration with Sr. Associate Director and Key Account Manager.
  • Performs all company business in accordance with regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, DEA, OSHA, PDMA, EPA, PhRMA) and company policies; reports violations to management; maintains high ethical and professional standards.
  • Maintains consistent, timely administrative duties and responsibilities; completes expense reports, call reports, and communications effectively and on time. Develops a personal development plan with annual reviews with the Sr. Associate Director.
  • Demonstrates complete knowledge of BIPI products and related marketplace; translates knowledge into sales presentations; focuses on solutions-based customer interactions. Responds to requests for expert technical information to build trust and value with customers.

Rheumatology Sales Consultant I
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience required; 2+ years of Specialty/Rheumatology experience preferred
