A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support and strengthen site-level safety, health, and environmental programs. This role plays a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing risk, and fostering a proactive safety culture across operations.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable partnering with leadership and frontline employees to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain site-level environmental, health, and safety programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and local/state regulatory requirements
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans
- Deliver EHS training programs, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills
- Maintain accurate documentation related to inspections, incidents, and training
- Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections
- Monitor and report EHS metrics and trends to site leadership
- Promote a culture of safety through employee engagement and education
- Stay current on regulatory changes and best practices
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Safety, Environmental Science, or related field) - 3–5+ years of experience in an EHS role within manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environments
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and environmental compliance requirements
- Strong investigation, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS tracking systems
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA certification (10 or 30) or willingness to obtain
- Professional safety certification (CSP, ASP, or similar)
- Experience supporting site audits and regulatory inspections
