The Sterile Processing Technician I (SP Tech I) is responsible for decontaminating, processing, and sterilizing instruments, supplies, and equipment by following established standards/guidelines. The SP Tech I demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Central Service Technology Course/Or Equivalent Work Experience (at least one year experience in central sterile processing)

One (1) Year Work Experience in Central Sterile Processing. Can substitute for Central Service Technology course. (Preferred)

Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact), Writing/Reports (Legible handwriting and coherent writing)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Medical Terms (Surgical/ Medical Terminology Knowledge, Critical Thinking, Multi-task in a fast paced environment, Ability to lead projects, Monitor and interpret results of gauges & Research surgical instruments and supply companies), PC (Basic entry level)
