CNSide Diagnostics, LLC, a subsidiary of Plus Therapeutics, Inc., develops and commercializes proprietary clinical diagnostic laboratory tests, such as CNSide, designed to identify tumor cells that have metastasized to the central nervous system in patients with carcinomas and melanomas. The CNSide Cerebrospinal Fluid Assay Platform enables quantitative analysis and molecular characterization of tumor cells and circulating tumor DNA in cerebrospinal fluid, informing and improving the clinical management of patients.
The Company is in the early stages of commercializing CNSide in the U.S.
This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of a patient’s financial account, from test scheduling through final payment collection. The position ensures accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and effective follow-up for the diagnostic services provided. Responsibilities include patient registration and eligibility verification, medical coding, claims submission, payment posting and reconciliation, denial resolution, and accounts receivable follow-up. The role also manages relationships with external billing and patient financial assistance vendors to ensure efficient, compliant revenue cycle operations.
Responsibilities- Own and manage the end-to-end revenue cycle, from patient intake and eligibility verification through final payment collection
- Design, implement, and continuously optimize RCM workflows, policies, and controls appropriate for a startup diagnostics environment
- Establish and oversee medical coding, charge capture, and claim submission processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reimbursement
- Lead denials management and appeals strategy, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions
- Own Accounts Receivable performance, including aging, collections strategy, and cash forecasting
- Monitor and report on key RCM KPIs (e.g., days in A/R, clean claim rate, denial rate, net collection rate)
- Partner with Finance to support revenue recognition, accruals, and forecasting for diagnostic services
- Build and manage relationships with external vendors (billing services, clearinghouses, patient financial assistance programs)
- Ensure compliance with payer policies, Medicare/Medicaid rules, and applicable billing regulations
- Support payer contracting and reimbursement strategy in partnership with Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Laboratory Operations, Sales, and IT to align billing processes with test ordering, accessioning, and reporting workflows
- Lead and develop internal RCM staff, including hiring, training, and performance management as the organization scales
- Oversee implementation and optimization of RCM systems and technology (LIS, billing platforms, payer portals)
- Identify and mitigate revenue leakage risks associated with test utilization, pricing, coding, or documentation gaps
- Prepare and support audits, payer reviews, and due diligence requests
- Develop scalable processes to support new test launches, expanded indications, and geographic growth
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management or healthcare finance, including leadership responsibility
- Proven experience managing end-to-end RCM operations (billing, coding, collections, denials)
- Experience in diagnostics, laboratory services, biotech, or healthcare startups strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and optimize RCM processes in a high-growth environment
- Strong knowledge of payer reimbursement, medical coding, and claims adjudication
- Experience managing external billing and patient financial assistance vendors
- Track record of cross-functional partnership with Finance, Clinical, Laboratory, and Commercial teams
