Takes responsibility for shift/staff in absence of department manager. Acts as lead contact for staff in answering questions, resolving account concerns/problems, and patient complaints/issues, etc. Assists in the training of new employees. Responsible to consistently and accurately validate patient demographic information, verify insurance and perform self pay follow-up as needed for Harris Health System Outpatient Service patients to ensure timely and accurate billing and optimal reimbursement for services rendered.
Takes on the more complicated and problem accounts, which include Hospital IP/OP and CHP registrations, collections, pre-registrations, insurance verifications, etc. Ensures all accounts contain comprehensive and accurate data to provide for timely billing and optimal reimbursement. Provides assistance and guidance (and responsibility when necessary) for complex/problem accounts.
- Education:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED - Work Experience:
Four (4) years experience in hospital or physician's office setting (OR) three (3) years of patient access experience. - Communication
