Position Pending Award
The Paramedic provides specialized medical care that addresses the physical, emotional, and social needs of this vulnerable population. This role emphasizes the importance of building trusting relationships, delivering culturally competent care, and supporting the health and well-being of immigrant children and their families through education and advocacy.
- Conduct thorough assessments and triage of immigrants presenting with various medical conditions.
- Provide immediate and appropriate care while ensuring a culturally sensitive approach to treatment.
- Administer emergency medications and treatments as indicated.
- Transport patients to and from alternate facilities.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, and treatments in an understandable manner.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and promptly in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Organize and participate in emergency response efforts, ensuring a safe environment for children and their families.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of immigrant children within the healthcare system.
- Assist medical providers with medical procedures and treatments as allowed within licensed scope of work.
- Assessment and documentation of the patient’s vital signs, chief complaint, medical history, and prescribed medications.
- Maintains supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies.
- Restocking clinical and provider areas once supplies are received.
- Is accountable for maintaining and improving own physician knowledge and skill competence.
- Provides patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of all patients.
- Supports the International Health and Medical Services philosophy, objectives and goals and Organization mission and vision.
- Respects and supports patient rights.
- Fosters constructive relationships as a team member within assigned department and with the members of other departments.
- Maintains professional conduct.
- Supports and enforces infection control policies and procedures.
- Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client‑specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
