About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide comprehensive anesthesia care to a diverse Veteran population within a high-acuity medical center environment. This role supports surgical, procedural, and emergency services while adhering to national Joint Commission accreditation standards.
Responsibilities- Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations, including patient history, physical examination, and data collection
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute anesthesia care plans
- Deliver all forms of anesthesia (general, regional, IV, local, topical)
- Provide intraoperative and post-anesthesia care, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Communicate anesthesia risks, benefits, and alternatives to patients
- Prepare patients and procedural areas for anesthesia administration
- Maintain accurate and timely anesthetic records and documentation in the electronic medical record
- Participate in Code Blue and emergency response teams, providing airway management and resuscitation
- Serve as the primary anesthesia provider on weekends and holidays, with anesthesiologist on-call support
- Adapt anesthesia techniques across a broad range of surgical procedures
- Mentor and guide anesthesia students and medical trainees
- Maintain patient confidentiality and a safe care environment at all times
- Respond to emergency airway and resuscitation needs throughout the facility
- Administer emergency medications and fluids in accordance with Advanced Directives
- Collaborate with on-call anesthesiologists, who will be on-site within required time frames
- Current CRNA certification
- Active, unrestricted nursing and advanced practice licensure
- Strong clinical skills across anesthesia techniques and technologies
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with electronic medical records and documentation systems
- Commitment to high-quality, Veteran-centered care
- Broad clinical exposure across surgical and emergency settings
- Supportive, collaborative anesthesia team
- Structured clinical oversight with professional autonomy
5-year (Base + 4, 1-year options) Tentative first day of service:
