Occupational Therapist or CHT - Per Diem

Position: Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapist
Location: Houston, TX (Hedwig Village)
Schedule: PRN, as needed
Compensation: $50.00/hour

Select Physical Therapy is seeking a per diem Hand Therapist-Occupational Therapist for our outpatient orthopedic center. Although a certified hand therapist (CHT) is preferred, we are willing to consider occupational therapists with a level II fieldwork in hands (required). We have a network of hand therapists and CHTs available for support and are excited to mentor occupational therapists aspiring to be a CHT.

• Hand Therapy Program:
  Our national hand therapy program spans 32 states, with over 300 CHTs and 300 hand therapists across the country.
• Mentorship: (Available in most regions) Our nationally-supported mentorship program is for therapists interested in pursuing their CHT credentials.
• Educational Opportunities:
  Take part in the National Upper Extremity (UE) symposium, national journal club, free local continuing education programs, national study group, and additional certification courses.

• Collaboration:
  
  Supervise assistants and aides and contribute to case management.
• High Standard of Care:
  Stay current and up to date with occupational therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
• Personalized Treatment:
  Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment, from evaluating and creating a plan of care to treatment and discharge.
• Relationship-Building:
  Maintain positive level of interaction with centers and patients. Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
  -accredited school of occupational therapy
• CPR certified
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least two years of experience in the application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedic
• Minimum two years in adult rehabilitation; hand and splinting experience preferred
