The Oncology Data Specialist - Certified (ODS‑C) is responsible for performing all functions associated with the maintenance of the Harris Health System Cancer Registry; case finding, abstracting, follow‑up, participating with registry quality assurance functions, and tumor boards.
Minimum Qualifications- Associate’s degree with completion of the Cancer Data Management program via an approved program by the National Cancer Registrar Association (NCRA) and one (1) year of work experience as an Oncology Data Specialist – Certified (ODS‑C) (preferred)
- High school diploma with completion of the Cancer Data Management program via an approved program by the National Cancer Registrar Association (NCRA) and two (2) years of work experience as an Oncology Data Specialist – Certified (ODS‑C)

Basic analytical skills necessary to determine completeness and interpret medical information on diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80% of work time when abstracting.
