Activities Director
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Director to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care settings, particularly in nursing homes or assisted living facilities, and will be skilled in developing programs that enhance the quality of life for individuals with varying needs, including those with dementia and memory care requirements.
This role is essential in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere where residents feel valued and connected.

- Plan, organize, and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Facilitate group activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical wellness.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure activities align with individual care plans.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to encourage participation and gather feedback on programs.
- Manage schedules for activities to ensure optimal participation while accommodating residents needs.
- Provide support and guidance to staff involved in activity facilitation, ensuring a cohesive approach to resident engagement.
- Stay informed about aging issues and best practices in dementia care to enhance program offerings.
- Document participation levels and outcomes of activities for reporting purposes.
- Previous experience in social work, nursing home settings, or senior care is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of dementia care principles and memory care strategies is preferred.
- Ability to manage schedules efficiently while being adaptable to changing resident needs.
- A background in caregiving or related fields is advantageous.
- Passion for working with seniors and enhancing their quality of life through engaging activities.
- Creativity in developing new programs that cater to the interests of residents.
