Reporting to the Director of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs, the Senior EHS Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the administration of the EH&S program that provides a safe, healthy working environment for all employees.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Oversee and administer the EHS Department Team.
- Monitor all areas for unsafe conditions, acts and potential hazards.
- Enforce environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and personnel are properly trained in its use.
- Respond to accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and identify and eliminate root cause.
- Conduct daily/weekly inspections of the facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA, TCEQ and other required regulations.
- Assist with management of the company non-subscriber injured worker benefit program.
- Regularly communicate with the Human Resources department regarding policies, Non-subscriber claims, and/or the selection of modified duty positions for employees on restrictive duty based on medical restrictions.
- Ensure safety and health policies are updated as needed to ensure continuing compliance with state, federal and local regulations.
- Maintain environmental documentation such as waste manifests and coordinate with regulatory authorities as needed.
- Maintain safety records.
- Conduct training as needed including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Hazard Communication (Haz Com), Emergency Action Plan (EAP), Respiratory Protection, Lockout/Tagout, Powered Industrial Truck, Hearing Conversation, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of experience in occupational safety, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
- Previous responsibilities with OSHA regulations.
- Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of Environmental laws and regulations with an emphasis on hazardous waste disposal experience.
- Any EHS certification highly desirable.
- Efficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to effectively conduct trainings/orientations.
- Ability to communicate with employees at all levels.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
