Position Overview
Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/PA) in Colon & Rectal Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. APP open to traveling to Houston area locations. Shift Monday-Friday 8-5 pm, outpatient. No weekends, no on call.
CompensationSalary Range: $117,500 - $176,500. Midpoint: $146,500.

- Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations for new, consult, and follow‑up patients.
- Collaborate with supervising physicians and fellows to develop and implement care plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and lab work.
- Document clinical encounters clearly via dictation or manual entry.
- Perform minor outpatient procedures (e.g., wound care, drain removal, suture removal).
- Manage pre‑ and post‑operative care for surgical patients.
- Provide thorough patient and family education.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams across the institution.
- Participate in education, research, and administrative initiatives as needed.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively in a dyad partnership or independently.
- Professionalism in all forms of interaction and communication.
Nice‑to‑Haves:
- Experience managing surgical patients.
- Surgical Oncology experience.
- Experience with Epic/One Connect.
- New graduates will be considered; however, prior APP experience is preferred in a critical care environment or surgical experience.
- RNFA for APRNs is a plus but not required.
Required:
Master’s Degree. Accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC‑PA), except for Physician Assistants who graduated from a PA program prior to 2013.

PAC – Physician Assistant Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. Upon Hire and - Required:

PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support American Heart Association (AHA). If working in one of following department:
