is looking for a Full-Time or PRN
Multi-Modality Technologist to join our team in Houston TX 77072!

The Multi-Modality Technologist is responsible for operating a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. The Multi-Modality Technologist position provides direct assistance to
physicians with all diagnostic procedures, delivering exceptional patient care, teamwork, and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs diagnostic radiology procedures to include but not limited to X-ray, MRI, CT, Mammography, Ultrasound, IR exams

• Proactively assesses, identifies and responds to the needs of the patient for adjustment or intervention to optimize patient care, image quality and patient experience which includes: positioning, physiology, procedure preparation,
and technical factors

• Modifies technical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognizes complications and limitations associated with certain procedures

• Provides direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic procedures, including assisting with sterile technique

• Performs, when applicable, what is required to meet the needs of patient care which may be one or more of the following: transporting, registration, admissions, answering phones, contacting physicians, taking and monitoring vital signs, EKGs, starting IVs, etc

• Follows safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly

• Uses ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to protect patients, staff and general public, and follows radiation safety standards

• Properly utilizes patient radiation protection and immobilization during diagnostic procedures

• Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures, regularly practices aseptic techniques, and ensures compliance with radiation safety and infection control procedures

• Complies with job role, department and hospital/facility safety standards, practices and policies

• Identifies opportunities for corrective action and process improvement providing recommendations and contributes to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety

• Reports “near misses” and inputs errors promptly into appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trends

• Ensures all imaging equipment has had quality control (QC) performed as required and is in safe working order prior to use

• Reports any malfunctions to management and regularly practices preventative maintenance procedures; calls for service if needed

• Assists with implementation and education of department-based safety initiatives and standards of practice

• Provides accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures

• Enters charges at the time service is delivered

• Actively participates in special projects, department initiatives or shared governance activities and seeks opportunities to expand learning with a focus on continual development

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Self-motivated to independently manage time effectively and prioritize daily tasks, assisting coworkers as needed

• Fosters a positive and constructive teaching environment by engaging co-workers and students, as applicable, in learning opportunities that are valuable and in alignment with business objectives

• Seeks opportunities to identify self-development needs and takes appropriate action

• Knowledge of the principles and practices of diagnostic radiographic procedures

• Knowledge of basic chemistry, film apparatus, and film processing techniques

• Knowledge of how disease and injuries are diagnosed and imaged radiographically

• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work

• Knowledge of human anatomy

• Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associates Degree or Graduate from a school of Radiologic Technology approved by the AMA

• Licensed by the Medical State Board of Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT)
