The Histology Tech is responsible for processing surgical specimens, body fluids and secretions for microscopic examination and with excellent customer service skills, assists pathologist in gross examination of specimens in a safe manner.

• Achieves professional goals set during previous evaluation period.
• Demonstrates accountability in knowledge of and compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures.
• Demonstrates competency in performance of department procedures.
• Demonstrates problem solving skills with abnormal results.
• Demonstrates competent performance skills in Quality Assurance, Quality Control.

• Enhances professional growth, development and knowledge.

• Prefer graduate of two year college program with 1+ year(s) training in an accredited school of Histotechnology.
• ASCP certification as HT or HTL or eligible for ASCP with completion within 1 year of hire.
• Prefer 1+ year(s) of hospital experience as a Histotechnologist.
• The Histotech must have specific technical knowledge of laboratory testing methods and theory pertinent to job position. The need knowledge of operating and maintaining laboratory instruments pertinent to job position.
