Clinical Molecular Technologist

Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking an experienced Molecular Technologist to join a new lab for a podiatry practice in Houston, TX. This new in‑house laboratory specializes in molecular testing, with a primary emphasis on PCR wound, nail, and infectious disease testing. We are looking for candidates that are comfortable working part to start with the potential for hours to increase as the lab volume grows.

Hours are flexible.

• Perform molecular testing, with a primary focus on PCR‑based testing.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Quant Studio equipment to ensure accurate and efficient results.
• Conduct DNA/RNA extraction and prepare samples for real‑time PCR analysis.
• Analyze, interpret, and report test results with a high degree of accuracy.
• Maintain strict adherence to laboratory protocols, including compliance with HIPAA, cGMP, and CAP/CLIA regulations.
• Manage laboratory inventory, including reagents and consumables, ensuring readiness for testing.
• Collaborate with medical staff to optimize test performance and turnaround times.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, including instrument calibration, proficiency testing, and performance monitoring.
• Provide technical support and training for staff as needed.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
Experience:
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in molecular diagnostics, with specific expertise in PCR testing.
• Hands‑on experience with Quant Studio equipment is required.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in DNA/RNA extraction and real‑time PCR techniques.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, including CAP/CLIA standards.
