Part-Time Radiology Technician – San José Clinic

. Work on Wednesdays and Fridays in a part‑time, non‑exempt position.
The Radiology Technician performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with physician orders, clinic protocols, and regulatory standards. This role supports high‑quality patient care by ensuring accurate imaging, patient safety, and proper documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities- Verify patient identity, exam orders, and clinical indications before imaging.
- Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort, dignity, and safety.
- Position patients correctly and operate radiographic equipment.
- Apply radiation safety principles, including shielding and exposure minimization.
- Review images for quality and completeness prior to provider review.
- Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies.
- Follow infection control, HIPAA, and safety policies.
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, and clinic staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Current ARRT certification or eligibility.
- Current Texas state licensure or registration, as required.
- Knowledge of radiographic procedures and safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate in English and Spanish is required.
- Compliance with all clinic policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards, including HIPAA, infection control protocols, and radiation safety guidelines. Background checks and licensure verification required.
- Prior experience in a clinic or outpatient setting.
- Experience serving underserved populations.
- Professional, courteous, and efficient interaction with the public and all levels of the organization.
- Computer skills, including operating a copier/fax.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, practice management system software, and electronic health record applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective customer‑relation skills, working with diverse populations in stressful, fast‑paced environments.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and position patients and equipment.
- Manual dexterity to operate imaging equipment.
- Visual and clinical capabilities in a healthcare environment with exposure to radiographic equipment; appropriate safety measures required.
- Auditory ability to perform duties safely.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and stoop for long periods.
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally or frequently.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment.
- Ability to respond to emergency/crisis situations.
- Exposure to noise, blood, and/or body fluids.
