ACTIVITY AIDE/COORDINATOR - PRN

West Oaks Hospital – 176‑bed acute care facility with a 16‑bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency. Offers behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults at inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels. 24/7 availability.

The Activity Coordinator assists the Recreation Therapist and Director of Recreation Therapy in designing and implementing therapeutic recreation services to improve patients’ physical, mental, social, and emotional well‑being.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist the recreation therapy department with hospital‑wide special events.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to develop a structured curriculum adaptable to various cultural backgrounds, heritage, and identity of patients.
• Maintain recreational areas and equipment.
• Complete documentation accurately and timely.
• Observe patients and share appropriate information with the manager.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field preferred.
• CPR and hospital de‑escalation certifications required.
• One year of experience in program specialty required; one year in a healthcare environment preferred.
