Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administrative competencies
  • Facilitate department operations through completion of all associates paperwork
  • Maintain adequate supply stock in all related areas; notify appropriate personnel of the need to reorder supplies and assist with distribution; ensure timely and budget-conscious stock orders
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment
  • Participate in equitable work distribution
  • Assist personnel with phone calls, scheduling, faxing/mailing reports, and clerical duties
  • Participate in health fairs, marketing events, etc.
  • Verify exam orders and necessary forms/consents before exams
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Technical competencies

  • Perform ultrasound studies (Ob/Gyn, abdominal, small parts, 2D & 3D Mammography) ensuring quality and patient safety
  • Assist with patient flow, including check-in, dressing, and discharge
  • Manage film and supplies; maintain laser printer
  • Maintain current knowledge of ultrasound procedures and anatomy
  • Troubleshoot ultrasound equipment and perform minor repairs
  • Apply sterile techniques during invasive procedures
  • Proficient in sterilization and equipment maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff; discuss exam results with physicians
  • Use proper body mechanics to prevent injuries
  • Provide ultrasound services tailored to patients' age-specific needs
  • Complete billing, coding, and paperwork accurately
  • Follow infection control protocols and OSHA regulations
  • Power down equipment at day's end

Qualifications:

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma
  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program and ARRT registered

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

  • Current RDMS certification
  • Texas Department of Health License
