Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administrative competencies
- Facilitate department operations through completion of all associates paperwork
- Maintain adequate supply stock in all related areas; notify appropriate personnel of the need to reorder supplies and assist with distribution; ensure timely and budget-conscious stock orders
- Ensure a safe and clean environment
- Participate in equitable work distribution
- Assist personnel with phone calls, scheduling, faxing/mailing reports, and clerical duties
- Participate in health fairs, marketing events, etc.
- Verify exam orders and necessary forms/consents before exams
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Technical competencies
- Perform ultrasound studies (Ob/Gyn, abdominal, small parts, 2D & 3D Mammography) ensuring quality and patient safety
- Assist with patient flow, including check-in, dressing, and discharge
- Manage film and supplies; maintain laser printer
- Maintain current knowledge of ultrasound procedures and anatomy
- Troubleshoot ultrasound equipment and perform minor repairs
- Apply sterile techniques during invasive procedures
- Proficient in sterilization and equipment maintenance
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff; discuss exam results with physicians
- Use proper body mechanics to prevent injuries
- Provide ultrasound services tailored to patients' age-specific needs
- Complete billing, coding, and paperwork accurately
- Follow infection control protocols and OSHA regulations
- Power down equipment at day's end

- Maintain proficiency through ongoing learning
- Recognize limitations and seek guidance when needed
- Participate actively in meetings and quality improvement activities
- Communicate concerns to appropriate personnel
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program and ARRT registered
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
- Current RDMS certification
- Texas Department of Health License
