Responsibilities- Provides direct care to clients following an individual service plan; treats each client with respect and dignity, recognizes individual needs, and encourages independence.
- Fosters a homelike atmosphere throughout the community and serves as a resource to other staff members.
- Alternates on‑call with the agency manager and is responsible for staffing coverage.
- Assists clients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and transportation to activities and meals) while encouraging self‑care.
- Encourages clients to socialize, participate in planned activities, and develop friendships with other clients.
- Maintains client records daily in a timely manner in accordance with company policy.
- Assists clients with medications as defined in the medication procedure and with pet care as needed.
- Provides transportation to doctor’s appointments and other errands.
- Maintains client confidentiality and communicates effectively with clients, families, and the collaborative team.
- Notifies the agency manager of any change in a client’s condition or status; assists with admission of new clients on BAH services.
- Assists the agency manager with schedule changes in the BAH scheduling system.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for clients, performing general housekeeping and following cleaning schedules for laundry, bedrooms, dining areas, living spaces, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.
- Follows proper procedures in emergency situations and responds promptly to client requests for assistance (pull cords, phone calls).
- Contacts other caregivers to fill vacancies in the schedule.
- Assumes supervisory role in the absence of the agency manager, directing client care staff and problem resolution.
- Assists staff with training and orientation.
- Covers BAH cases when care associates cannot be secured.
- Manages on‑call/after‑office hours and weekend business needs as assigned.

QualificationsEducation and Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred, with 3–6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
