Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative competenciesFacilitate department operations through completion of all associates paperworkMaintain adequate supply stock in all related areas; notify appropriate personnel of the need to reorder supplies and assist with distribution; ensure timely and budget-conscious orderingEnsure a safe and clean environmentParticipate in equitable work distributionAssist personnel with answering phones, scheduling, faxing/mailing reports, and other clerical dutiesParticipate in health fairs, marketing events, etc.Verify exam orders and necessary forms/consents prior to examsPerform other related duties as assignedTechnical competenciesPerform ultrasound studies of acceptable quality, including Ob/Gyn, abdominal, small parts, and 2D & 3D Mammography, ensuring patient safetyAssist with patient flow, including check-in, dressing, and dischargeManage film and supplies; maintain laser printerMaintain current knowledge of ultrasound procedures performed in the departmentApply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics to obtain defined studiesTroubleshoot ultrasound equipment and perform minor repairsApply sterile technique in invasive proceduresEnsure sterilization and maintenance of ultrasound equipmentCommunicate effectively with patients, doctors, and personnel; relay exam results to physiciansUse proper body mechanics to prevent injuriesProvide ultrasound services tailored to patients' age-specific needsComplete routing, coding, and billing paperworkFollow infection control protocols and OSHA regulationsPower down ultrasound equipment, printers, and computers at day's endInteractive competencies
Exercise sound judgment in changing situationsMaintain proficiency through workshops, seminars, and self-learningRecognize limitations and seek guidance as neededParticipate in team meetings and quality improvement activitiesCommunicate concerns to appropriate personnelQualifications
Education
- High School Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program and registered with ARRT
Certificates/Licenses
- Current RDMS certification
- Current Texas Department of Health License
