Position Summary What You’ll Do Responsibilities

The Transportation Driver will be an integral part of the Suvida Healthcare patient experience. This position is responsible for driving a wheelchair van to transport non-emergent patients to and from Suvida Healthcare Centers on a part-time, flexible shift basis. Additional duties include vehicle care and maintenance, and transporting patients during day trips using handicap-accessible vehicles. Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the highest level of customer service
  • Respecting and showing concern for all patients
  • Responding promptly to shift engagement notifications and being available for flexible hours as needed
  • Driving company vehicles to and from patient care facilities
  • Assisting disabled passengers into and out of vehicles
  • Securing wheelchairs with restraining devices during trips
  • Reporting service disruptions to clinic staff or Center Director
  • Performing vehicle cleaning, inspections, fueling, and maintenance scheduling
  • Keeping records of trips, mileage, and accidents
  • Alerting emergency services if needed
  • Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring Education, Experience, Licensure, or Certification Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid state driver’s license in good standing
  • CPR/BLS certification (willing to obtain within 7 days of employment)
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Minimum age of 25
  • Clean driving record in past 7 years
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • 5+ years of motor vehicle operation experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • 2+ years healthcare transportation experience preferred
  • Experience with wheelchair securing devices preferred
  • Knowledge of local geography preferred
Expectations for Flex-Shift Transportation Drivers
  • Respond promptly to calls and report to work within a reasonable timeframe for flex shifts
  • Be reachable by phone while waiting for shifts
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Physical Demands

Prolonged sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, reaching, and operating a vehicle are required. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
