Shift Hours

36 hours per week. Evening/Night 6:30pm–7:00am with rotating weekends and holidays.

Provides quality respiratory care to patients according to established procedures.

• Provides respiratory care modalities to patients as ordered by physicians or approved protocols.
• Develops, implements, and revises patient care plans.
• Ensures prepackaged medications are labeled with patient information and have the correct drug, dosage, and dosage form.
• Discusses orders for respiratory care with providers, nurses, supervisors, and care teams.
• Verifies and accurately documents pertinent patient care data including assessment, procedures, and patient education in the patient record.
• Assembles, prepares, cleans, and operates respiratory care equipment per established clinical and infection control practices.
• Documents patient safety issues in safety intelligence.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

• High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an approved and accredited program or university.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by AHA.
• Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification by AHA.
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) to practice Respiratory Care.
