. The MRI Technologist delivers advanced, oncology‐focused imaging that drives precise diagnoses and treatment planning. Our multidisciplinary team—radiologists, nurses, and medical physicists—provides safe, high‑quality exams aligned with national standards.
Monday – Friday, 2 pm – 11 pm (weekend rotation).
Key Responsibilities- Deliver age‑appropriate patient care, including POCT, IVs, interview/assessment, discharge education, transport, and medication preparation/administration.
- Screen patients for implanted devices; enforce MRI safety, enforce MR Zones and National Patient Safety Goals, and control access to clinical areas.
- Recognize and escalate critical findings; respond to emergencies; adhere to infection control and proper contrast administration (the six rights).
- Maintain HIPAA compliance; ensure accurate documentation and timely image transfer to PACS.
- Prepare, clean, and stock rooms; manage supplies/disposables and decontaminate areas per regulations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow, reduce delays, and perform downtime procedures.
- Conduct SBAR handoffs, complete shift reports, and document incidents/variances within required time frames.
- Perform high‑quality MRI across all protocols; apply anatomy/MRI physics; meet productivity/error benchmarks; operate equipment/QA, report malfunctions; perform general X‑ray as needed.
- Support quality/performance improvement; participate in ongoing education; coach/mentor staff and students; align with ACR and Joint Commission standards.
- Maintain required licensure/certifications; complete mandatory training; flex schedule (early/late, call, ride‑out) and travel to regional sites as needed.
- Required:
Graduate of an accredited Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) program. - Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Required:
CMRT – Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (Texas Department of State Health Services). - Required:
BLS – Basic Life Support. - Required:
ARRT / RT(MR) – Magnetic Resonance Imaging, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (within 60 days of hire).
